Daresbury Hall
Constructed in 1759 for George Heron, the hall remained in the Heron family until 1850, when it was sold to Samuel Beckett Chadwick. By 1892, it had come into the possession of Sir Gilbert Greenall, who later became Baron Daresbury. During World War II, the hall served as a military hospital and, from 1955 onward, was utilized by a charity now known as Scope, functioning as a residential home for individuals with disabilities. After being purchased by a wealthy individual who passed away before any restoration could occur, the property fell into a state of semi-dereliction. In April 2015, authorities uncovered a significant cannabis farm with around six hundred plants, valued at approximately £750,000, in an annex of the estate. Plans to partially demolish and convert the house emerged in 2016, but in June of that year, the vacant structure suffered extensive damage due to a fire.
